Fast Food Burgers
Fast food restaurants have always interested people. Everyone likes fast food burgers, because they are delicious and easy to go and eat. Now a days, fast food restaurants offer healthy menu items, but people are not always ordering the right and healthy choice. As Vanessa Monaqhan stated in her report on Oct, 28, 2010, Healthy Fast Food Options May Lead to More Bad Choices than Good:
As people become more health conscious and better educated about good food choices, healthy fast food has become a feature of most restaurant menus. Unfortunately, it's unlikely that the health of their customers is driving fast food restaurants to sell salads, sandwiches and other low fat items. Instead they've recognized an opportunity to get more people through their doors, or the drive-thru, by offering healthy menu items. Once people are at the counter, however, it seems their resolution to make a healthy choice often disappears (1).
The purpose of this essay is to compare between three types of fast food burgers In-N-Out, Burger King, and MacDonald’s. The In-N-Out burger is the best burger. The three main differences are the menu, the quality of food and the price.
The first In-N-Out Burger opened in 1948, founded by the husband and wife team of Harry and Esther Snyder. As history declares, Harry came up with a rather novel idea that customers could place orders from their cars through a two-way speaker box.
The first drive-thru was thus created. From the beginning, the In-N-Out philosophy has always been, “Give customers the freshest, highest quality foods you can buy and provide them with friendly service in a sparkling clean environment” (“In-N-Out Burger” screen 1).
The first difference is In-N-Out has the simple menu. When you go there you can see only four or five items on the menu and you can choose your meal easily without staying for a long time at the cashier to read the menu. As John Marcotte stated in his report on February 24th, 2005 In-N-Out’s Secret Menu, “In-N-Out Burgers is a West Coast institution. And one of the keys to their success has been keeping it simple. There are only four food items on the In-N-Out menu: Hamburger, Cheeseburger, Double-Double and French Fries” (1). In contrast, when you go to Burger King or MacDonald’s you can see the complicated menu and you stay for 10 or 15 minutes just to read the menu and make your choice because they have more than 10 meals in the menu, and in the end you can recognize they are all the same.
The second difference is the food at In-N-Out is fresh and healthy, and they cook the food when you order it. “In-N-Out is known for its commitment to top-quality ingredients, like 100% pure beef with no additives, preservatives or fillers ( Sharp 1). On the other hand, when you go to Burger King or MacDonald’s you can notice the meat is ready and they only put it together with the bread and heat it in the ovens.
The third difference is the price which everyone looks for. You can buy a hamburger sandwich at In-N-Out for only $1.75 only. On the other hand, you can’t find this price at Burger King or MacDonald’s. Maybe you can find cheap meal prices at Burger King or MacDonald’s, but you can’t find the same quality of food or the same size.
Finally, the simple menu to read, fresh and healthy food, and the price are the most important three things for you to choose In-N-Out as the best fast food burgers. These days, people are trying to reduce eating at fast food restaurants, because all reports and research shows that fast food causes obesity and their food is unhealthy. After you know all these good things about In-N-Out, you can go and eat healthy and fresh food for a good price.
